The SAS 70 Type II certification demonstrates the company’s commitment to the integrity and security of customer data and the reliability of its network and procedures. SAS 70 is considered one of the most stringent auditing standards for a service company.
The SAS 70 ("Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70") is an internationally recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). SAS 70 audits focus on data center operations and their internal controls, as outlined in the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, Section 404 for IT internal control assurance. OmniSYS customers who are publicly traded entities and required to meet Sarbanes-Oxley standards will be able to provide evidence that all defined controls are met. The certification for privately-held customers of OmniSYS will enhance their ability to adopt best-practice principles.
Successfully completing SAS 70 Type II audit confirms OmniSYS’ control objectives and control activities meet the rigorous requirements set forth in Sarbanes-Oxley regarding data center operations and internal controls. The audit performed by BDO Seidman for OmniSYS focused on internal and external data including: Claims Processing and Billing; Backups; Change Management; and Physical/Environmental controls. By showing all control objectives are met, OmniSYS continues to prove its dedication to customer data integrity and privacy, for both corporate and patient data.
